Have a Keen Eye and a Love for Horses?
If so, this drawing class is going to be horse-some for you!
We'll be in the beautiful Welcome Bay sketching gorgeous horses and ponies. Horses have been inspiring artists for centuries and now it's your turn.
The class will begin with an introduction to the artist and host Roxanne Milson, and the supermodels Armani, Rembrandt and Rabbit.
No prior art experience is needed to join the class. You can be a superstar artist or an absolute beginner keen to give it a go. It's all about having fun, getting creative and spending time outside with the horses. There's no pressure!
This class is for people 13 years and over.

Hosted by Roxanne Milson, Artist and Horsemanship Instructor
Roxanne loves art and horses and has since she can remember. Over the years teaching horsemanship and horse riding, she discovered many horse people are also very creative. There's a magical link between creativity and the world of horses and this Life Drawing class reflects that connection.
What You'll Learn
While the focus is on having fun being creative while drawing ponies, there are a few things that will be taught as well so you can practice at home on your cats, dogs, birds or from photos.

Horse Anatomy as Simple Shapes
Horses are a tricky subject, but observing the basic shapes that form their anatomy makes it easier, and fun! Find the squares, triangles and circles going from large shapes to small shapes. Details can come later.

Gesture and Quick Sketching
Live subjects means a lot of movement so we'll play with gesture drawing, line of action and quick sketching. Keep your pencil light, keep your eyes on the subject and find the shapes.

Proportions, Posing and Personality
Observational skills can only improve with practice. Look at the subject and the negative spaces between the shapes you see. The shapes you see and choose will reflect the personality of the subject: Circles are soft, triangles are sharp and squares are strong.
